Forensic Social Work: Global Horizons
We aim to offer attendees a wide array of workshop choices including those addressing criminal and civil/family legal domains. General topics may include, but are certainly not limited to:
- family or community mediation
- mitigation in capital cases
- jail/correctional setting services
- risk management for service providers
- restorative justice
- legal and ethical issues in school, medical/health/hospice or occupational social work
- child welfare (e.g. termination of parental rights, foster parent rights, custody, federal laws such as ASFA and MEPA-IEP)
- guardianship, dependency and elder care issues
It is the position of NOFSW that all social workers and associates of the social work profession can benefit from gaining an expanded knowledge of the impact of the law on research, policy and practice.
