 Stacey Hardy-Chandler

Stacey Hardy-Chandler, Ph.D., J.D., LCSW, PGDip, has served as the chief executive officer of the Association of Social Work Boards since 2022. ASWB is the nonprofit whose mission is to provide support and services to the social work regulatory community throughout the U.S. and Canada. Dr. Hardy-Chandler’s social work career spans more than 35 years and includes providing direct mental health services to diverse client populations; evolving to academia serving on faculty at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas School of Social Work and George Mason University Department of Social Work; and then transitioning to senior management for Fairfax County and the City of Alexandria outside of Washington, D.C. She received her master’s degree in social welfare from the University of California, Los Angeles; her doctorate in clinical psychology from the California School of Professional Psychology (Alliant International); and her Juris Doctor from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas William S. Boyd School of Law. Hardy-Chandler also holds a postgraduate diploma in organisational leadership from Oxford University Saïd Business School. Describing her professional identity as a “Macro-clinician,” she is currently licensed as an LCSW in Nevada and Virginia. Professional honors include National Association of Counties and Virginia Association of Counties Achievement Awards; National Association of Social Workers – Nevada Chapter Social Worker of the Year Award; and University of Nevada, Las Vegas Innovation Award for development of the Advanced Graduate Certificate, Forensic Social Work. Most recently, she became the 2024 recipient of the Sol Gothard Lifetime Achievement Award – the highest honor bestowed by the National Organization of Forensic Social Work
